![]() According to my Cats of 1986 wall calendar, today is Friendship Day. I decided to bake some oatmeal cookies for the first day back to school tomorrow to show my friends/co-workers my appreciation for them, but I wouldn't share that information until I was confident that my recent string of BAD SUMMER BAKING experiences is finally over. (I'll save you the recap, but the cookies turned out fine.) Showing that you care in a way the other person can understand and appreciate has been the downfall of many-a friendship. My friends are amazing at this, you guys! A small card here. A bottle of hand sanitizer there. (As a librarian, hand sanitizer is my WORLD.) A wildly inappropriate meme dropped into your inbox because "this reminded me of you". A two word text that doesn't mean anything to anyone else but somehow spans the hundreds of miles and nearly 20 years of friendship jumps out at you and envelopes you in its warm glow. I'm a lucky gal. I'm taking a cue from my friends and showing YOU how much I appreciate YOU through a little giveaway! Books have been really influential in bringing me closer to people whether it's been through reading, being a librarian, or writing my own books. So, I've created a "Friendship Day Giveaway"! The winner will receive 2 signed paperbacks of "Before I Shatter" and "After I Break" and cookies to share with one of their friends. In the entries for this giveaway, I mention a magic word in this blog post. The magic word is: BAM Unfortunately, I am only able to offer this giveaway in the United States. (Sorry, my international friends!)
