This is a new level of fun. Try taking a personality test as one of your characters! Well, I did it twice at 16 Personalities. Vita's results didn't really surprise me. She's always been more introverted unless pushed into leadership (living in seclusion because her father is hunting her down doesn't help). Her pesky emotions tend to get in her way when she should be making sound decisions. She spends a good deal of both books trying to figure out who she is and what she wants out of life.
The mediator personality is a beautiful one. These folks are always looking for the good - always trying to make the world better - always striving for MORE. There's a lot I could learn from hanging out with someone like Vita.
Is it any surprise that Vita's personality is very closely related to my own?
I don't think so. Writers tend to inject a bit of themselves into each main character they write - whether intentional or unintentional, idealized, based, or whatever. While Vita is far from an idealized version of myself, she does share some qualities - bookishness, inventiveness, a willingness to see the good in others before the bad.
As a matter of fact, I could use a little more mediator in my life.
Are you a mediator? Let me know!
Stay tuned for Tristan's personality test............ it's very revealing and contains little to no spoilers.
